Job Shadow
On Wednesday, December 7th, I will be job shadowing Lynda Brown at Advantage Rehab. Lynda Brown is a physical therapist there. She also has an office in Cody. I will be arriving at 8:00a.m. because she arrives at 7:00a.m. and her assistant said to treat it like a regualr school day. I will be leaving around 3 p.m. She can work as late as 6 p.m. depending on her patients that day. I will be getting lunch off for an hour, which she also does. Her assistant also told me to wear casual clothes, like jeans would be fine. I will still wear cacky pants though because they fit like jeans, but will be more professional to wear that day. I hope to learn about if they go through the same routine daily and it gets kind of boring or if the days change up because different patients have different priorities.
To become a physical therapist you must gain a bacholars degree then gain a two year program for a physical therapy license.they work with disabled patients who have a physical disability or have been injured and help them recover with physical therapy and exercises. Physical therapist usually work for a hospital, rehab center, or open a private business. They can be paid from $65000-$75000. They work wherever there are people. I'm interested in becoming one because I like helping people, interested in anatomy and injuries but without all the blood. Im really excited to work with lynda because I've known her for some personnel physical therapy and family friend, and seeing if this could be my dream job.

Video
1: What is your opinion about the video? I feel like senators should not be allowed to buy stocks! If they always have insider information that the public can't have then it's not okay to buy the stocks since they know more information then a common person investing or trading and it's not. I don't think any senators or congressmen should be able to buy stocks in the end because they don't get in trouble for it or else it should be illegal instead of getting a pass.
2: What can you do about your opinion? How can I make my opinion count?
I can write to my congressman to let them know how I feel or senators to see if they understand how unfair it is. I can also make sure I vote in the next election for my opinion to count, so I help decide who I want to represent me and my stocks.
3:What is insiders trade? Insiders trade is non-public information about a company trade that is illegal to use to buy stocks except for congressman and senators.
What is the information that caused Martha Sterwart to go to prison?
Imclone Systems were selling, and all their stock prices were going to plunge.
4: What is black Friday? When did it get its name? What is Cyber Monday?
Black Friday is the day where everyone spends their money for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. It got it's name Oct. 28, 1929. Cyber Monday is the Black Friday, except on a Monday and over the internet.

Candy Stock
Walking into a dark sweltering room in the library, first off is questionable enough on an afternoon. A video blared men screaming and random images of men fighting in a stock room; this woke me up instantly along with numerous mini candy bars spread across the floor and the library's hard fake plastic furniture. Confused and a little overwhelmed I scavenged for my partner across the room til we finally made reassuring eye contact with each other, along with a smile that both made us feel better about the unfamiliar situation. Quickly easing back into a haze of familiarity was soon broken when Kapptie yelled, " Grab as much candy as you candy, don't eat your own money!"Everyone pounced to the floor, sprawling just to grab a few Hershey pieces, or throwing elbows to proclaim the now valuable Laffy Taffys. Proclaiming a portion of the table Brooke and I spread out about three large hand fulls. Glancing at the white boards, candy names' were listed along with random prices next to them. Now the game begins.
It took us a few glances around the room that people started to trade their candy for a different kind. They determined how much they were worth by the prices listed next to the written names of the candy. We first got a hint that Mr.Good Bar was splitting, so our first thought was to hurry and sell them because we thought it meant they were going to decrease by half their price. We were wrong. It means that they'll double in price by the end. We decided to go with a candy bar that had consistently rising, which was Twix and our Hershey's. It was frustrating because no one would trade us for some more Twix. Finally when Kim refused to give me her Twix even though she'd be making money, I took them by force but still left her the candy I offered that was worth more. Once we got all the Twixs, we felt pretty content, so we talk for some and also gave Drew all our regular Hershey's because he got a tip they'd be worth a lot. Gold also went down at the end that hurt us a ton. Drew's tip was wrong so he lost a lot of his "money" to us by giving us green Laffy Taffy for all of our Hershey's. In the end we did better in the end then what we started out in the beginning.
It was hard to win if you didn't know to maul everyone at the beginning for the largest amount of candy. That would be my first advice for someone to play, is collect a ton of money at the beginning and to know stock terms well. This experience summed up would be hot, hectic, and tiring. But it was all worth it for a few pieces of Hershey's chocolate at the end.

Game Standards
3.2 Students formulate solutions for economic problems?
With the amount of money the game gives you at the beginning, you have to spend it to make more buildings. Growing the amount of buildings will increase the workers you need which brings more people around your town. The more people the more buildings needed. When you make more buildings, you will have more money because they sell things and make profit. So, if you want to make money you need to spend it first in your town.
3.1-Students explain how different economic systems are organized for production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services?
If you keep all the production distrubution and consumption then it will make sense because they are closer and easier to manage together. It also raises the residential area price because it isn't near the retail.
3.4Students demonstrate an understanding of economic principles that influence individual financial planning.
I need to make sure I don't spend all my money on one thing because my city can't just prosper off of a post office. I've also learned not to spend all my money because if I don't have money left from spending it on one thing, then my city won't grow. If my city won't grow then I'll lose money instead of making money.
4.3 Students evaluate the impact of technology and how it has shaped history and influenced the modern world.
Technology through years makes tasks easier. Buying the most modern thing in the game will get things done faster and also give you more money. Also, the more opportunity to buy more modern things if I keep buying the most modern technology for my game. Clicking once with my mouse can upgrade my new windmills so I will make even more money. Without technology my civilization will die.
4.2 Students analyze current events to better understand the world in which they live.
Recently in my city, I got a gift from my company, so with that information I know that I've must have been doing well with my city. Without recieving a gift lately then I'd know that my theory of making a lot of small buisnesses wasn't correct. But, since I just received a gift of a rotating silver globe then I think I'm on the right track.
4.4 Students explain how past events impact the present and the future
The first couple days I played this game I made sure to build lots of houses and windmills to make energy for all the people moving to my town. This was a big mistake. I later learned to make buisnesses instead because they make around $3000, instead of $100. So by purchasing houses instead of buisnesses my amount of money didn't have as great as of an impact as I thought it would.
5.5 Students interperate charts, maps, and graphs to answer questions dealing with people places events or enviroments.
The map of my city is separated in two different areas. One half is for residential areas, and the other is for buisness. Placing the houses on one side of the town raises the area amount for housing which makes people happpier not to be around industrial machines. Putting the buisnesses also helped me to save time on collecting money because I know to always be ready to also make a new contract.
5.3 Students demonstrate an ability to organize and process information about people places and enviroment
I organized all my houses in one area of the map but left room to the right for more expansion for later. I built my offices and city buildings under the houses so that they have room for expansion too and I can easily click the contracting button for all the businesses. Lastly I set all my parks and windmills over to the opposite side of my land to reserve room for expansion for the rest of my city.
